The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, an ongoing dispute between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the Nagorno-Karabakh region, is a complex issue rooted in deeper political and historical tensions. This article analyzes the history of the conflict, tracing its origins back to the early 20th century. The article explores how political and economic factors, such as territorial claims and regional alliances, have contributed to the conflict's escalation and the current state of unrest. Furthermore, the article also explores the role of historical trauma and cultural identity in fueling the conflict. Both Armenia and Azerbaijan have distinct cultural and historical narratives, and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has become entangled with these narratives as both nations seek to assert their own identity. This article examines how these factors have created conditions where the conflict remains intractable and difficult to resolve. Finally, the article concludes by suggesting possible solutions to help address the conflict, emphasizing the importance of diplomacy, dialogue, and compromise in the search for a political settlement. By addressing underlying political and historical tensions, as well as the critical role of cultural identity, the article highlights the complexities of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the challenges of achieving a peaceful resolution.
